Bolton Wanderers, Rochdale and Bury are all heading for Radcliffe Borough to take on Benny Philip’s Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division side.
Fans will also see a number of new signings take on Football Conference outfit Southport and FC United of Manchester, the popular annual fixture returning on Saturday 11 August after it wasn’t played last year.
“It should be fantastic viewing for the supporters,” said the Borough manager whose side kick off their schedule against Rochdale on Wednesday 11 July.
Boro then welcome Bury on Saturday 14 July before Bolton Wanderers on Friday 27 July in clash that kicks off at 7.30pm and Phillips is delighted with the warm-up fixtures.
“The club have organised some excellent fixtures for the home pre-season games and we know it will be tough, but that is what we want and these games will be a big part of our preparations in terms of fitness and organisation.”
Radcliffe say special events are planned for the Bury and FC United friendlies at Stainton Park and Phillips is looking forward to seeing the Evo-Stik NPL’s First Division North Team of the Year keeper Nic Culkin test himself ahead of the coming campaign.
He also took last season’s Club Player of the Year accolade ahead of players like Ben Wharton who's also resigned for Boro.
Up front Chris McDonagh will be hoping to transfer the skills that brought him 60 odd goals over the last two seasons at Curzon Ashton to Radcliffe.
His progress is likely to be charted on the club’s new Facebook page and Phillips is looking forward to seeing McDonagh come into his side and quickly make his mark.
“It’s an excellent signing for us,” said Phillips. “Chris is very experienced and at the peak of his career and his 60 goals over the past two seasons backs that up. It is a very impressive return which we hope will continue for us.
"There are not many players around that have such a record and as well as his experience, he is very strong, works hard and leads the line well. So we are delighted with the signing."
As well as McDonagh, Salford City’s Alex Mortimer and Matt Tierney join the side, along with Richard Battersby who returns from FC United of Manchester five years after leaving the Boro.
Phillips said: “No one doubts the quality and ability of Richard and he has had a good career since he first left the club. He is a very clever player and he looks to still be hungry and up for the challenge that lies ahead.
“I was always impressed with him when my teams used to play against Radcliffe and I was not surprised when he was sold. He will be a very good asset for us and now he also has the experience to offer to the team.”
Midfielder Battersby is relishing the job ahead. "I wanted to play regular and still have a lot to offer," he said.
“I wanted a fresh challenge and I can see the club want to progress on the pitch as they are off it. I know all about the club and still know a lot of people from my first spell here. It would be great to repeat the good times I had previously.
"Leaving FC was a tough decision as they are an excellent club and I would like to thank Margy [Karl Marginson] and everyone involved for making my spell there enjoyable.”
