Manchester United are heading for Evo-Stik NPL First Division North Curzon Ashton next week after agreeing to organise a last minute friendly.
The Premier League giants are now sending a team to the Tameside Stadium on Wednesday 22 August as part of Curzon’s 50th anniversary celebrations.
Curzon have strong links with United and manager Sir Alex Ferguson stretching back to Club President Jack Crompton who was an FA Cup winning goalkeeper with United in 1948.
The Red Devils were also the first opponents for Curzon when they moved into the Tameside Stadium in 2005. That match saw Gerard Pique, Fraizer Campbell and Jonny Evans play for United.
In last summer’s friendly, United were 4-1 winners over the Blues in a match featuring Paul Pogba and Ravel Morrison.
The game comes less than a week into the new season for Curzon who'll have already faced Salford City and Garforth Town by then.
