The Daniels are mourning the loss of one of their supporters and volunteers who died yesterday.

Today [Wednesday], Evo-Stik NPL First Division South Stamford AFC paid tribute to Bryan Bosett whose death was described as ‘sudden and unexpected’.

The father of two was well known to home and away players, officials and fans as the first person many often met on arrival at the PK Arena’s main gate, having manned it for many years.

The retired Daniels fan’s wife Jill also volunteered at the club, looking after matchday hospitality in the boardroom and Mr Bosett leaves behind two sons, Simon and Mark.

A Daniels spokesman said: "It is with very great sadness that the club heard of the sudden death of Daniels supporter and helper Bryan Bosett.

"There was always a smile and a great deal of banter as Bryan welcomed people to the home of Stamford AFC. Bryan had a great philosophy on life - to live it to the full, you never know what’s around the corner.

"This he has done with his wife Jill, who looks after visiting officials in the boardroom on matchdays. Bryan has left us as he intended - a very happy and contented man. He will be missed by all who knew him."
