Drury tightens defenseZoom
Stamford AFC manager Graham Drury is tightening up at the back after adding defensive duo Aaron Davies and Tom Batchelor to his squad.

Drury believes the pair have impressed enough during preseason to earn their opportunities with the club.

Right-back Davies joins after spending last season with Stewarts & Lloyds Corby from the United Counties League.

Batchelor spent the back-end of the last campaign with Lincoln Moorlands.

"Aaron was being watched by Cheltenham Town last year which says a lot about him," Drury told stamfordafc.net.

"He’s a young lad but is big and quick. He reads the game exceptionally well and has really impressed me in the two pre-season games that we have had so far.

"Tom, on the other hand, is only 20 but is a towering 6’5 centre-half. He played for Lincoln City as well as Shrewsbury Town, before his spell with Lincoln Moorlands last term.

"He’s a big lad, quick, and strong in the air – which are all the attributes a centre-back needs. It’s another positive signing for the club."
