Hucknall Town New Stadium
Planning permission gives go ahead.
Hucknall Town Football club are delighted to confirm that planning permission was granted for their new stadium off Aerial way, in Hucknall (opposite our existing ground) at the meeting of Ashfield District council on Thursday 26 August 2010.
The decision and permission are the result of some 5 years of work by the club, Welbeck Estate and its consultants. The scheme is almost identical to the displays in the social club, the only change will be within the main stand to incorporate better and further revenue earning potential.
As part of the scheme the club has entered into agreements to include more community involvement, training and education facilities. The club as enlisted Susan O' Brien as the clubs consultant on such matters, and she has guided the club through this process.
It is envisaged that the provision of a new stadium for the club will at last provide the path for the club to resume it progress in non league football which in recent times has been frustrated by the uncertainty of it's existing ground and its facilities.
A lot of hard work is yet to be completed to fulfill the clubs ambitions and the current thinking is to aim for occupation of the new stadium during season 2012/2013 this does however depend on the success of the development sale of its existing ground.
