Buxton Football Club are mourning the passing of John Bainbridge, their former player, committee man and director.
Locally born John, played for his home town club in the 1950’s in both the Cheshire and Manchester League teams.
Until his retirement as a director at the end of last season, John and his wife Doreen were well known as hosts in the Buxton boardroom on match days.
Their son, David, made a record 642 appearances for the club.
