Cammell Laird are hoping fans will be enjoying one of the best programmes in the Evo-Stik NPL this season after appointing an ambitious young journalist as their new programme editor.
The Evo-Stik NPL First Division North club have been beefing up their team on and off the field over the summer and this week installed Mark Ridgway as their programme editor.
Aged 21, the Wallasey based sports journalist is training at Huddersfield University and has already been working with FC Halifax Town's well oiled media team.
The Lairds are delighted with the appointment and revealed that Ridgway came out on top from a shortlist of top quality candidates.
A club spokesman said: "We launched a search for a new programme editor this summer and were delighted with the high standard of applicants.
"We had a number of applicants but it became apparent when dealing with Mark that he is media savvy and familiar with the importance of club programmes and their content.
"Mark comes into the role with a lot of fresh ideas. As we develop the club on and off the park we are hoping to make a statement of intent with the likes of the programme and we have placed a lot of trust in Mark at this exciting time at Cammell Laird Football Club."
Mark started in his new role this week and can be contacted via email at: mark-ridgway@hotmail.com.
