Garry Flitcroft bolstered his Chorley squad this week with the signing of keeper Peter Collinge and left back Louis Barnes.
Collinge is no stranger to Chorley’s Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division supporters after signing for former manager Gerry Luczka in September 2007 from Clitheroe. The keeper was at Victory Park for two seasons before joined Evo-Stik NPL First Division North Mossley.
He then moved on to Stocksbridge Park Steels and faced the Magpies in the opening game of the current season, the nine goal curtain-raiser ending in a 5-4 away victory for Chorley.
Flitcroft believes his arrival will bring fresh competition and cover for the number one shirt and hopes his new left back Barnes will have the same influence.
Barnes joins on an initial one month loan from Blue Square Bet Premier side Southport. He’s spent time with Northwich Victoria and Marine and in 2010 had a trial with Manchester United.
The defender likes to attack and is excellent on the ball, useful in set-plays and can also operate on the left of midfield.
The duo arrived just days after Chorley transfer listed striker Steve Foster.
Last season's Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division Player of the Season was told by the Mapies that they were making him available for a move after last Saturday's 2-0 FA Cup First Qualifying Round victory over Nantwich Town at Victory Park.
