Ogden Hunting Trip Bags a Couple of Tigers
Hyde FC duo move to Wincham Park.
Manager Paul Ogden has been out hunting, and in the process bagged himself a couple of 'Tigers' after 22-year-old Ashley Stott and 18-year-old Lee Pugh both put pen to paper to complete their move from Blue Square North outfit Hyde FC.
Stott, a forward with a proven goalscoring record with Welsh Premier League side Bangor City, hit the back of the net on 36 occasions from a total of 93 appearances (23 sub) during his three season spell in Wales, where he was voted the Welsh Premier's Young Player of the Year in 2008. He joined Hyde in the closed season.
Like Stott, Pugh joined Hyde in the closed season, having served his apprenticeship with Bury. A naturally left-footed player, he is comfortable filling either the left-back position or wide left role, and has also played for Burnley and had a loan spell with Rossendale United.
Of their signings, Ogden said: "I'm grateful to Neil Tolson (Hyde manager) for his assistance in enabling me to sign these lads together, and also in time for our game at Curzon on Saturday. It would not have been possible to include them in the squad had he not done so.
"Like everyone else I'm hoping that Ashley can find the back of the net for us as often as he did at Bangor, while Lee gives us alternatives down the left hand side."
