Rushall Olympics' Ahmed Obeng was rushed to hospital today [Saturday] after collapsing on the pitch during their Evo-Stik NPL Premier clash at home to Chorley.
Medics were called to Dales Lane after the 21-year-old was injured in a challenge. He is suspected of suffering a broken rib and punctured lung and had initially got to his feet after the tackle before collapsing at pitchside.
A Pics spokesman confirmed that no other injuries were feared and that Obeng was taken to Walsall Hospital in an ambulance, the incident delaying the match by 20 minutes before ending in a 0-0 stalemate.
