On Monday 30th August 2010 Trafford’s striker Scott Barlow playing his first game of the season at Lancaster City in a Evo-Stik League First Division North game came on as a substitute in the 68th minute & five minutes later Scott hit a cracking 20 yard volley into the back of Lancaster’s net to bring the score level at 2-2.
His goal the 90th of his Trafford career broke the club’s long standing record of 89 goals held by the present club manager Garry Vaughan who’s Shawe View playing career was between 1993 till 2000 as a midfielder.
Scott was first noticed in local football in the Spring of 2007 by previous manager Ged Kielty.
In his debut season 2007-08 he scored 20 goals to help Trafford to win the Vodkat League title by 11 points clear of their nearest rivals.
Then in the following season in the Unibond League First Division North Scott scored an incredible 40 goals to become the Division’s runner-up top goalscorer of the season.
During the last campaign in season 2009-10 he continued his goalscoring with 21 goals to bring his three year spell at Shawe View to an impressive 89 goals league & cup goals.
Hopefully there’s more to come from Scott this season for Trafford in the Evo-Stik League.
