New Mills manager Ally Pickering will have been happy to see his Evo-Stik NPL First Division North side climb to fourth on Tuesday night with a 2-1 win over Curzon after making a number of additions to his first team squad over the last couple of weeks, writes Duncan Hibbert.
Striker Michael Fish is a proven goalscorer who has played for Stalybridge Celtic, Curzon Ashton and Mossley, where he scored twenty-five goals in 2008-09.
Also joining from Stocksbridge is wing-back or midfielder Daryl Weston, who was also a team-mate of Fish's at Mossley. Weston, pictured playing in the 1-0 win over Ramsbottom United on Saturday, has also turned out for Stalybridge Celtic, Curzon Ashton and neighbours Ashton United.
Both striker Sam Mitten and defender Brandon Windsor join The Millers on a short terms basis from Conference Premier side Stockport County. Mitten signed professional terms with the Hatters in the summer, while Windsor returned to Edgeley Park from Accrington Stanley in August.
They join two players who signed on-loan from Conference Premier neighbours Macclesfield Town last week.
Jay Burgess is a young striker who has played in all pre-season matches and a number of behind closed door games scoring a number of goals, while Andrew Mills is a young goalkeeper who graduated from Macclesfield`s youth academy.
His performances in the under-18s and reserves earned him a professional contract with Macclesfield last summer.
