Sutton Coldfield Town are holding trials next month for their newly launched Football Foundation.
The Evo-Stik NPL First Division South outfit teamed up with Birmingham Metropolitan College earlier this summer to offer an ‘Academy’ style course for young players aged 16 to 18.
Four days of trials are now set to take place at the Royals’ Coles Lane ground from Tuesday 21 August for players hoping to win a place at the Foundation and pursue a career in football.
Organisers say students will study full-time for B-Tec sports qualifications while training four times a week with their academic studies timetabled around work on the training ground. The Foundation's courses have been designed to mirror those run by Academies at professional clubs with students playing competitively in the British Colleges Football League as well as in mid-week cup competitions.
For more information contact the club's Neil Murrall on 07535 354688 or Birmingham Metropolitan College's Antony Isherwood at: antony.isherwood@bmetc.ac.uk.
