Evo-Stik NPL First Division North Manager of the Month Tommy Lawson believes both Kenny Strickland and Lewis Fields will go on to glittering careers after the pair signed one year contracts at Skelmersdale United.
Both are aged just 23 and Lawson reckons he'll be warding off higher league suitors for the pair before too long after they both signed one year contracts with an option for a second.
Strickland was previously with Manchester United and Chelsea while Fields was with Wigan Athletic so neither are strangers to success.
They are in Lawson's safe hands. In six years his Skelmersdale production line has sent eight former players on to Football League clubs and Lawson says they are destined to follow.
Today, former Skem star Craig Noon joined Cardiff from Brighton three years after leaving the Evo-Stik NPL outfit in a reported £1.5m deal and Lawson said: "We are very proud of all our players who have gone on like Craig and these two are special lads. We'll be doing eveything we can to develop them and hold onto them while we can."
