Rainworth Miners Welfare manager Kevin Gee agreed to a late request from Mansfield for a friendly on Monday night on provision that the Wrens weren’t involved in an FA Trophy replay.
The Wrens’ 3-0 FA Trophy Preliminary victory over Evo-Stik Southern League Leighton Town means they’re also free to welcome Paul Cox’s Conference Premier Stags to their Welfare Ground at Kirklington Road for a 7.45pm kick off.
The Evo-Stik NPL First Division South were owed a first team friendly after injuries saw Cox forced to send a youth team in preseason. This time the Stags manager is sending a side full of fringe players he wants to run the rule over.
