Villager set for pro dream challenge

North Ferriby United have revealed that defender Danny Smith is taking part in Samsung’s 'Win a Pro Contract' competition on Sunday.
The 18-year-old is a regular member of the Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division's Reserve Team and played for the England Colleges' XI last season.
More than 5000 players have entered the competition which will see the eventual winner offered a contract by either Swindon Town or Leyton Orient when the results are announced in January.
Smith, who is bidding to get past the first round at the weekend, said: "I would like to say I can go all the way and win a contract but the competition is going to be tough.
"I'm quite nervous but really excited to be given a chance to fulfil my dream."
Meanwhile,the Villagers have signed the experienced Ryan Williams from Gainsborough Trinity. The left-sided player has played at numeruous Football League and Conference clubs throughout his career.
Previous League clubs include Mansfield Town, Tranmere Rovers, Chesterfield, Hull City and Bristol Rovers while his Conference career included spells at Aldershot, Weymouth and Gainsborough Trinity.
The Villagers also confirmed on Friday that summer signing Chris Hall has left the club to sign for Spalding.
