Josh Glover has committed himself to Witton Albion by signing a contract until the end of the current Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division campaign.
The versatile teenager, who can play in midfield or defence, agreed terms with Witton Albion manager Brian Pritchard this week, the Northwich Guardian is reporting.
"It's important we show the same faith in him as he has in us," the Witton manager told the paper's website.
"Josh has a lot to offer; he's been involved in most games so far this season and he’s always been reliable. His versatility makes for competition for places, which is what every manager wants to have."
Glover played in midfielder during last weekend’s FA Trophy win over league rivals Blyth Spartans, but has also featured as a full back and central defender this season.
He arrived in Wincham a year ago following a trial period with home town club Stoke City and Pritchard added: "He came here as a left back, a position in which he’s been developed over the past few years. It's a role he's not let himself down in, although personally I think he can become an established player in the centre of defence. He's been banging on the door for an opportunity, which he's earned with his attitude."
Glover, now 19, represented the England Schools’ FA’s U18s team last year while still a student at Newcastle College. He also played for Staffordshire in the FA County Youth Cup before making more than a dozen appearances in Witton's promotion-winning season in Evo-Stik NPL First Division North.
