Yellows go extra mile
Non-League Day
Zoom
Hucknall Town have pulled out all the stops to support Saturday's Non-League Day.
The Yellows are away at Sheffield in Evo-Stik NPL First Division South but were so determined to back the nationwide event that they signed up their Youth side's Central Midland League against Nottingham United at Watnall Road as an NLD fixture.
A number of Hucknall's side are now training with manager Brett Marshall's first team squad and the club are hoping to attract new fans by opening all their regular match day faciltiies and admitting an adult and child for £1.
Non-League Day, now a nationwide event supported by clubs up and down football’s Pyramid, is being staged for the third year running after the day's previous success in attracting new fans to the Evo-Stik NPL and raising awareness of the Non-League game.
More than half of Saturday's Evo-Stik NPL Premier Division fixtures are taking part with many more from Evo-Stik NPL North and South also running offers and events for supporters.
To qualify for free or heavily discounted admission all fans need to do is produce a valid season ticket at turnstiles. In some cases clubs are even extending admission offers to new fans who bring along utility bills proving they live locally.
